Some Casual Questions about J. W. Verret

Odd level for a sudden player.

Not on Wiki that I could find. A fire with no fuel.

Prestigious associations on his resume — Harvard Law, Republican Hill staffer, Trump pre-transition team, assignments advising congressional committees in finance matters during Obama admin, apparent 10 yrs of active but opaque GOPe affiliation.

So whose number did he have on speed dial to get a flurry of Op-ed gigs and media appearances? How does his Tweet go viral? Maybe somebody’s explained all this, but I haven’t seen anyone asking. How does a bench sitting utility infielder suddenly wind up entered in the All-Star Homerun Contest?

Hmmmm. Who does he know? Who knows him? Any real specifics, anecdotes, memories of him?

If you wanted an ideal mole, a public GOP Trojan horse on impeachment, who would you pick? Accomplished enough, connected enough not to be ignored, or automatically dismissible, but low enough on totem pole not to be on the radar or easily discoverable in terms of his real personal history and affiliations.

And why him, now? A Harvard lawyer but really a financial technician, a writer of white papers and briefs about Deep State regulations. Couple of drab video appearances on C-Span, plus a few financial analyst gigs on cable news. Not a criminal attorney . Not anywhere close to a would-be candidate for elective office, yet suddenly expressing concern about remaking the Republican Party after the "post-apocalyptic Trump era." What exactly was his role in the Trump transition? Why did he leave what he calls the "team"? Does anyone remember?

Whose team is he on now?

Is he a possibly hand-picked stalking horse for a clandestine GOPe attempt to start remaking the party by losing in 2020? With all visible hands clean. Nobody started the party rebellion. It just trickled up through the Trump muck and acquired a life of its own. Only price? 15 minutes of fame for an unfamous man to pad his future DC resumés with.

We've seen political hoaxes aplenty the past few years. What became of the wronged woman who accused Kavanaugh? Where's that mail bomber who was a Dem nightclub pimp before becoming a Trumpian terrorist? Anybody heard tell of him since the midterm eleuctions? Have the Old Guard Republicans learned some new tricks of their own?

Just asking. The case for impeachment is as gossamer politically as it is legally. So why does an empty horse — in particular this empty horse — ride out of nowhere with a message of alarm?
