Lost Generation

Image
October 28, 2023 People seem shocked at the display of Nazi-like hatred of Israel suddenly appearing on our television screens. They shouldn’t be. But the fact that this kind of mentality is news to us is one of the major reasons for its existence. What we’re seeing is a very specific group of people showing their true colors for the first time in their lives. The protesters are 18 to 22 years old, college age, and they are in many ways a distinct demographic we have not examined closely at any point in their developmental years. It’s time we did so. They are showing us who and what they are, and the attention they are seeking goes far beyond support of the nebulous case for Palestinian rights. What do they want? Our eyeballs on them. By any means necessary. The term ‘Lost Generation’ resonates because it has its own history and served as a pivot point not just in America but the world. A small group of people who became symbols of a vast change of mind in western civilization. The b

The San Andreas Faultline in the Democrat Party

Image
This is a complicated subject studded with land mines that can only exacerbate the potential for a devastating earthquake. The new and unanticipated war in Israel has exposed a weird schism in Democrat ranks nobody has ever wanted to address in print but me. There is a Jewish Problem. It’s not the one the evil Woke-Nazis have decided it is. They have a sickness and the name of the sickness is Anti-Semitism. Calling it by other names is mere political costumery, like claiming that the female desire for an unlimited ‘License to Kill’ the babies in their bodies is about being Pro-Choice, not an animal preference for sexual libertinism over the inconvenient but universally human right to life. The same bait-and-switch rhetoric festoons the so-called political position of Pro-Palestinian Anti-Zionism. Nobody cares about the Palestinians. They’ve never had, never been, a nation. They were just the Arabs nobody else wanted to claim who lived in a patch of land on the Mediterranean controlle

Vintage Instapunk Zionism Posts

Of many Instapunk voices, the most provocative was TruePunk . A quick way to find a bunch of commentary ranging from serious to satirical. The umbrella for the following list of still functional links was a 2006 essay called “ Accomplices .” Related Posts: Holocaust II Michael Moore Takes Charge The Algebra of Non-Anti-Semitic Anti-Zionism Talking Peace The Man with Two Faces Kool Kaffiyahs Where Credit Is Due... My own favorite here is “Kool Kaffiyahs,” because satire doesn’t try to do any thinking for you; it’s just a launching pad for thinking of your own. But pick and choose for yourself. All would be a good choice. A good start would be the first on the list, although you must give it time to load without thinking it won’t. It will. The delay is caused by a huge GIF file of authentic Holocaust photos of the kind that can get you censored and lectured at Facebook, Yout

That’s “O” with an “M” and an Asterisk

Yes. The next wave of vermin is starting to come out of the woodwork. The Trump haters are getting desperate. The Republicans are failing to mount a successful knee-capping operation, so much so that after two dismal rounds of debates they’re already going for the Hail Mary of drafting a candidate who previously announced his intention to keep on doing the job he was just elected to do. The newest GOP savior has now been a Governor for 21 months. The last Virginian to throw a successful Hail Mary in the NFL was Michael Vick (now retired), but it’s been a lot longer than that since Virginia had a winner in the Presidential game. In fact, the self-proclaimed “Mother of Presidents” has the most lopsided record of great/godawful presidents of any state in the union, the worst news being that all the good ones were out of office by 1825. Of the remainder, two inherited the office as VPs and were never elected to the office, two died in office early in their terms, and one was all but dead i

Judicial Temperament in the Empotent State

What’s his name? Artful Empathigon? Anthro Emojiron?  Arthur Engorgon? It’s early. First coffee. Working on it… Judges are not usually appointed to the bench for their resemblance to Seventies kitsch like mood rings and lava lamps. They were a thing once. Like Jimmy Carter was a thing once. Like the NYC bailout with junk bonds under Mayor “Kiss Me” Koch was a thing. But nobody’s nostalgic for those things anymore. Except maybe, come to think of it, the State of New York, where all kinds of Seventies fads are popular again. Free love for violent criminals who must be accommodated through this difficult phase in their personal development. Porn oozing from every surface in Times Square, because who are we to say it’s a worse eyesore than Trump Tower? Total financial meltdown because Big Apple intellectuals are the smartest and wisest people on earth and know that grinding poverty is something that only happens below the upper floors of the Upper East Side, far less important than the ‘fe
