The Trump Voter (from 2/27/2016)

There’s a lull of sorts in the fighting, but the war for the nation is not over. It’s a good time to take stock, to remind ourselves how and why we got where we are today. That’s why I’m linking a three year old post from the blog InstaPunk Rules. You may have seen or even read it before, but I’m urging you to read it now, in the now of a deeply Machiavellian coup attempt against the president we elected two and a half years ago. What has changed since then? In the situation, in the opposition, in Trump, in us? We can each answer for ourselves. I’m thinking I was right then and still am. Here’s how the post begins:

“Contrary to official opinion, we’re not dumb. We know he’s a risk. A big one. But we’re all in. Why?

“Because we cannot go on as we have been. Seven years of Obama have shown that this unique and glorious nation is in danger of dying. While every single establishment institution has played along, caved, hid under the bed, pretended that business as usual would somehow see us through to another better day.”

And here’s the full text of The Trump Voter.

Now I’ll leave you to your own thoughts about what you’ve witnessed and endured in three years’ time. And what he has endured. And done.
