I knew this time of fevered hatred would come.


Back in 2007 I wrote a post at the original InstaPunk called Accomplices, which contained the following statement of purpose:

“My motive for writing this post is to point a finger at the Americans who will be culpable as accomplices and collaborators when the second holocaust arrives. Some of us aren't going to let them off the hook the way so many did when the much-ridiculed Domino Theory came true and killed 2 million Indochinese. This time, we have an historical precedent to consult and comparisons to make. This will be no sin of omission by ignorance. This will be a crime of commission that condemns your memory, if not your nonexistent souls, to eternal damnation. Who am I talking about? Much the same people Hitchens is talking about in his piece. He doesn't call out the paleo-conservatives like Buchanan who really do hate Jews for fascistic religio-nationalist reasons, or the vapid apologists for such vermin...”

Now we’re there. Lisa Schiffren has reached the point of writing an open letter at Facebook to her fellow Jews, warning them of what should be an obvious peril in the the noxious recent waves of Democrat Party anti-semitism they blink at. Read her post as well as mine, which indicts specific parts of the body politic and also links nearly a dozen other related InstaPunk posts. I know. Reading. “Do I hafta?” Yeah. You hafta.

The Best Book on the Trump Phenomenon

Everybody rushed in after the fact to be first with the goods on how Trump pulled off the biggest electoral upset in modern presidential history. I was already ahead of them though. I had been covering the political briar patch with a steady diary approach for four presidential election cycles, both terms of W, the meteoric rise and weird re-election of Barack Obama, and of course the first flutterings of the Republican country club riot over replacing him. I had three blogs to draw from over that time, and a couple+ books out of it, including one demonstrating that I had Obama  figured out long before even his fiercest beltway critics caught on. Nobody censored it 15 years ago. Back then, it was unquestioningly covered as freedom of expression. Here’s my pdf file of ‘ The Goosestep Enigma ’.  This was by no means the most controversial post or graphic included in Instapunk’s 2,000+++ posts over the years.  There’s a Mighty Old Name on the Scene For the past half century or so, the University of Pennsylvania has not been treated as an equal in the Ivy League, let alone the CHYOS Club. Here’s a telling true story. At a recent Penn-Princeton basketball game, the Quakers had an insurmountable lead in the closing seconds, and the girlie-boys of Princeton started chanting, “Safety School…! Safety School…!” For many years, the preppy feeder schools for the Ivies with the toughest admissions standards had reliably used three schools as fallbacks (i.e., Safety Schools): the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Penn. I know the architecture. I have placeholders in position, and text and graphics squirreled away to expand on later, preparing for the massive effort required to turn the architecture into a breakthrough work of fiction that threatens the reality each one of us clings to. But I have run out of time. The simplest math of time is against me. I cannot, could not, possibly complete what I have envisioned, and the realities of tech economics are against me.
