The Daily Whale

In a real newsroom, you can smoke cigars and swap funny stories
about Al Smith. Like Adolphe Menjou and Pat O’Brian did.

Saw a link this morning about Jonah Goldberg casting someone else’s bread upon the waters now that the ghost of WFB has explained what “Mene mene tekel upharsin” means. Namely, that the handwriting is on the Wall for National Review and its hardy company of man-children. Had to share it with you. Doubt if it’s getting much attention elsewhere.

Here’s the actual link if you care from Axios Something-Or-Other.

Turn out the lights when you leave the office, Jonah. And for old time’s sake, tell Kevin to take his feet off the desk and put his shoes back on. Thank you. By the way, when you take on the Big Kahuna this time, mind you don’t get swallowed whole. Again. This time it’s not grant money. It’s the money of some real person, probably Hayes. Try to remember that.
