The Afterlife of the Big Gal

Image
They’re going to have to start a new portrait gallery at the White House. Hillary probably will have to be included because she still insists she won the 2016 election and, like the two ladies up top, was a ‘kinda-President,’  de facto or de lusio , even though the press worked overtime to cover it up. Do you know who these women are? You absolutely should know. Jill Biden. Probably finishing four years of being the most important and powerful woman in the history of the United States. Do you think she’s what the ladies above were hoping for when they raised the ante on ‘female emancipation’ to ‘breaking the glass ceiling (and some balls while we’re at it)? I’m thinking not. The First Lady, as we’ve been taught to call her, is not the point of the spear the feminist pioneers were hoping for. She has never been elected or appointed to public office or testified before the Congress. She has never run a business or met an employee payroll. She didn’t go to Smith and Harvard L...

My Inauguration Post, aka “America is Dead.”

Image
All hail the Delaware Destroyer himself... An old cut titled “The Delaware Slide.” Nuff said. The mighty smart Biden faithful are lined up and already panting and wetting their undies for the speech of a lifetime... Wednesday morning. First day of the last days of your life. Cool. The SS downloads him from the Metroliner and uploads him to the podium. He’s going to say more than 100 words for the first time in six months! We’re all a’quiver here... Oopsie. America is dead? Told you so. Yeah, I did . But have no fear: Wonder Dog, aka the Vice-B, is here... important info even if Uncle Joe finds her distracting... “I can’t stand it. Her hair smells like baby powder.” “Did he say ‘She was BLACK’?” Yes he did.“Damn. Nobiddy tol’ me .” Thank God he noticed. He’s back on track with the speech now... Oops. So Komodo laughed too. $ up-front though. She know.. Thinking we don’t have to worry about JB. 25th Amendment and all. Komodo’s poised and in striking range for the necessary rescue. W...

Theater of the Absurd

The Ultimate Punchline: Who knew? Absolutely everyone. A lot to consider here. The most important subject being what do we do next? The realistic options are severely compromised and constrained by what has already been happening in the past couple weeks — and what has NOT been happening in the last year and a half. Beginning with the latter circumstance, the Casablanca scene above perfectly exemplifies the behavior of the Democrat Party (plus RINOS) and the mass media since the Afghanistan catastrophe. Point being, EVERYBODY in the government and broader political scene has known all along that the President is — what’s a term that won’t get me banned forthwith (?) — cognitively challenged , throughout his basement campaign and masked nonappearances in front of cameras, which were systematically overlooked then but have now been suddenly “discovered” by the ones who deliberately saw nothing amiss during the election cycle. Those poor Dem reps in the red states are scrambling fo...

The DNC Response to the Kirk Memorial

Image
This is only a thought starter, because there are still a lot of balls in the air on this thing, but time’s a’wasting. The funeral is today, but the Memorial Event yesterday at Arizona U. Stadium is simply not something the out-of-power party can ignore or pretend never happened. This is what it looked like: This wasn’t a Trump campaign rally at some basketball arena. This was a double decker football stadium, every seat filled, plus an arena across the street watching the proceedings on a Jumbotron, with still others  lined up outside. Many speakers and one brand new star in the firmament, Charlie Kirk’s widow, who is no retiring house mouse. Except that she brought down the house in Phoenix and promised to keep going from here on forever. No two ways about it. She stole the show, and the thunder, from everyone, including  Donald Trump. Which makes people believe, maybe for the first time, that MAGA  won’t end  with him. That should scare Dems from here to Ireland ...

Amusing IPR Searches for Idle Hands

Image
Something to file away for a day when you’re tired of the morning’s headlines and need a chuckle or a head-scratcher to stay awake. These are all one-word searches (hyphens don’t count) to look at with the site’s Keyword Search function. Adding words may seem to be advantageous but it almost never is. Each word on the following list will show you multiple choices to pick from. quick hitters, longer pieces, funny stuff, thoughtful stuff. Covers a lot of territory over four years and sometimes much more than that, depending on the internal links. It won’t always be obvious why a post contains the search term, but there’s always a reason. The posts, listed can continue past the screen that’s showing; when you’re prompted with a linkmto More Posts, take it. Be arbitrary. Have fun. There’s no correct order in this list, and no correct order in what any search generates. Like a seaside amusement park. Ride the rides that look like a good or slightly scary entertainment… 1. The Biden Benefit

Image
Don’t worry. This won’t turn into charts & graphs. I also won’t be giving you a lot of highlights of rants, stumbles, and lost weekends in Delaware. In fact, my purpose here is to suggest a different perspective altogether. It came to me when I was notified of a thread at Instagram claiming Trump had confessed to fixing the 2024 election. It was early in the morning and I gave way to curiosity. Why, I asked him, was it so important to keep trying to dig up dirt on Trump after 10 years of frantic Democrat efforts of the sort had failed to stop his return to the White House. The reply was quick and consisted of the usual stream of adjectives, vulgar, rapist, convicted, Daddy’s money, guilty of every deadly sin in the book. How exactly, I wondered, was Trump so much worse than the corrupt, senile pedophile who had made every aspect of American life measurably worse? A speedy reply in 30 seconds flat: “We’re talking about this guy now.” Why there’s this post. Biden had ceased to...

Sometimes they drag me back in

Thomas Jefferson in a tracksui t   In the last couple of weeks I’ve been witness to a couple of monomaniacs holding forth from their petty thrones on Facebook. Thomas Lipscomb has been making an ass of himself with thinly veiled “anti-Zionist” screeds against the corrupt Jew leadership of Israel. Commenters aplenty have taken the bait and swarmed in to denounce his denunciations and brand him as the antisemite he is (or has, in his dotage, become). I made a comment or two trying to expose the provocation game he was playing, but it fell on deaf ears. I managed to overcome the obstacles associated with using Messenger to remind Lipscomb that as an op-ed ‘journalist,’ his obligation was to persuade, not inflame. I sent him a link to my post about Scarecrows , but he did not reply. After that I left them all to it without looking, but my wife had a morbid fascination with the ongoing ritual dance until I think I convinced her to let it drop while it continued on. That’s where I stood ...

Seismic Cracks in the Icy Coalition of Democrats

Is that a bullet hole? Or a black hole? It’s complicated. We don’t like complicated. If you can’t say it in a tweet or a 30 second sound bite on teevee, don’t waste our time. I remember some decades ago when it was a great joke one year that USA Today had just won a Pulitzer Prize for “Best Investigative Paragraph.’ These days any argument that requires research, in-depth analysis, and careful piecing together of the people and partisan positions involved is easily dismissible as conspiracy theory, most likely by right wing fascist liars. Why don’t we like complicated? That’s simple enough. We don’t like complicated because we can’t do it anymore. By the time we get to school we’re already too dumb to acquire the kind of critical thinking skills needed to navigate ‘complicated,’ and the philosophy of education now in place has adapted by ceasing any attempt to teach critical thinking skills or provide the base of historical information and learning that used to make investigative repo...
