TEMU Mary’s in MAGA clothing
Who’s in charge of building the American ‘woman’ of the future?
Companies like TEMU are the reason why Trump is taking a harder line against China than every other treacherous trading partner of the United States. The Wall Street media crowd is actively hoping for a recession to cool Trump’s jets on the tariff thing. They can’t afford to lose the enormous subsidy their publications receive from Chinese advertisers. Anything is preferable to losing those big big bucks in a period when the suckers are no longer willing to read libels against themselves by paying to see behind a pay wall. The crisis of the Trump tariff policy (that’s “Trade War” in NYTspeak) is hitting TEMU too..
Blind Sucker Bait:
Summary
Oh. Right. The crisis is higher prices for consumers, not TEMU content or financial drain on American companies who don’t use slave labor. Got it.
My biggest question about all this Trade War Business is, Who exactly can we trust to report the news on it fully and accurately? Our own supposedly conservative,”America 1st” news outlets? Uh, I don’t think so. I’ve been tracking this story for quite a while now, mostly because nobody else seemed very interested in it. Why would that be? The rest of this post is all about the answers to that last question.
This is all stuff I’ve found over the months. These are offered in no particular order. All of them are serial offenders; the fact that some offenders show up only once here is a function of my hit and miss collection methods and obviousness, not their restraint. Take a look at all these, give the Summary a quick read, and then decide how much you still trust your favorite news sources.
Breitbart:
There should be more here, but I tend to clip Breitbart articles w/o ads unless I
have FB space problem. Take it from me. Their snouts are in the trough on this.
Gateway Pundit:
They’re hard to catch, because they rotate through questionable
ad links so rapidly. But this one has been all over the place just
the past couple days. Check it against the Breitbarf item above…
Just-the-News:
JTN is a pop-up disaster on the best of days. But there could be plenty more examples here.
Rasmussen Reports:
The worst offender by far. I have lots of these… and Rasmussen is supposed to be MAGA-bent.
Posted this after I got curious/tempted about a hat featuring my name…
The Big Guys:
People like Google are happy to help. Help you shop. Help China sell you. Down the river.
What’s concerning about all this? It’s all out in the open. Just like TikTok as Chinese propaganda in our children’s bedroom “study” spaces. Media outlets on the conservative side of things have a hard time selling advertising because of the all NYC bluenoses who steer the ad dollars away from the Deplorables. So we’re supposed to understand that Rasmussen, for example, has to bite its lip and rely on pervy clothes from TEMU to keep them in business, maybe hoping that dirty old men in their polling base won’t regard it as an insult. It’s at lead interesting that the crudest sexy togs seem to be featured more in the right-leaning outlets than the mass media outlets, where women’s jewelry seems to be the first line of attack. Breitbarf and the Gateway Pundit really don’t seem to care at all where they get their ad dollars, regardless of geography. Breitbarf regularly sponsors designer sawed off shotguns and quack-looking health regimens. Gateway excels at dangerous (security risk) clickbait to scantily clad celebrities and the worst kind of lowball targeted advertising. I’ve endured long-running ad series aimed at my closest South Jersey town, informing me that this, that, and the other celeb are now living there, just click to see, uh, nothing like that. In exactly the same vein, Gateway appears to be in the marijuana business, offering me grewt deals on the strongest weed in locations near me, sometimes on the same page with dire stories about the out-of-control drug crisis in America.
Just-the-News seems just out-of-control when it comes to advertising, almost unreadable, unusable. Hardly surprising TEMU is in their mix as well.
I’m not suggesting there’s anything you can do about this state of affairs. But I am trying to provide a reminder that people who depend on advertising for a living can’t always be trusted to tell you everything you’re entitled to know.
Okay. I’ll go away now. I don’t have any advertisers. Maybe I’m just jealous. Yeah. That’s the ticket.
This really ought to be TEMU’s theme song. Same target market…
