A Hump Day Top 20

This pic makes sense at Hump Day HQ.

A lot of wannabe news out there, without many headlines that go beyond the threat level. Why Hump Day can be an opportunity to back off a bit, regroup, and get our minds right for finishing the week with a flourish.

The idea for this post came to me when I was checking visitor stats, which usually are set to seven days. A little under 500 had visited in the last day, but no one had visited the newest post. That’s highly unusual. What were they all looking at? I changed the timeframe to 24 hours, and here’s what I got:

A couple are here because I may have mentioned them online elsewhere, but most are here for reasons unknown. Not a lot to any of them, and these hardly add up anywhere close to 500, so they must be the result of curiosity, of keyword searches by visitors taking a look around. In other words, this list might qualify as a representative sample of the Instapunk site as a whole and what piques the interest of its audience.

So what’s here? A little of everything it turns out. Politics, religion, sex, and general cussedness ranging from the droll to the deadly serious. My usual. And, of course, my customary reckless mingling of literary and pop culture references. It’s also got examples of my graphic artwork, videos, and some poems (strictly in moderation) plus a few nudes.

Thought this post could be an experiment for any who wander in by mistake. The search function is easily accessed at the top of the page. (I’m not providing links here; that’s part of the point.) Pick a post title that might interest you to glance at and copy a couple words from that title into the search window. You’ll be given links to posts that contain exactly that character string. With luck, the title you wanted will be first in line. When you’re done there you can click on the “Instapunk” banner and look some more. Or not.

There are more than 700 posts here. Many long, many short. All with links to various others. They can all be searched the same way. Search result lists may go on for several pages, prompted by a “More” link at the bottom of the page shown.

Some posts you’ll like, hopefully, and some you won’t. That’s the way things work around here.

Happy Hump Day.

UPDATE, 4 PM. Make that Top 21. Checked in to see what the curious were unearthing today. Found one on the updated list I hadn’t forgotten about but couldn’t find because I didn’t remember what I called it. Definitely worth a second snf third look. The Thing I Can’t Do.
