A Marthist Proposal
Defiant Democrats bravely resisting federal deportations include Governors
Murphy (NJ), Walz (MN), Pritzger( IL), Polis (CO), Newsom (CA), and Hochul (NY).
Brave? They’d like us to think so.but the truth may be more complicated. There is no logic that makes it politically advantageous to resist deportation of violent criminals who have driven up crime rates in their states and largest cities. Yes, there’s a fringe minority who are adamantly opposed to deportation, but they are violence-prone themselves and their protests are more conducive to hardening the opposition than converting it. The people who block traffic on major highways, including police and ambulance service, and burn American flags while waving the flags of the lands they fled to enter the U.S.illegally aren’t going to secure the re-election of any of these holdouts against the rule of law. What if they just can’t help themselves?
Earlier this week, concerned mental health professionals weighed in with their own take on what is occurring in this and other manifestations of frankly irrational Democrat behavior:
There’s more. You can read it all by taking the link above.
If you think about it, bravery isn’t the reason for this last stand mentality against the inevitable. It’s fear. Fear of something worse.
This is their nightmare. After the deportations will come the rounding up
of all the Trump haters, who will be banished to camps like Guantanamo.
They believe it. They’ve convinced themselves of it. If they don’t stop him here at the beginning, the Hitlerian momentum will only increase.
Even some Democrats might doubt that Sykes, Behar, and Griffin are dangerous enough to hurl into a GOP Gulag, but if there’s any chance they’re right, by the time they have Kathy Griffin breaking rocks on a chain gang, all the politicians will already have been arrested, tried, convicted, and consigned to concentration camps for MAGA “reeducation.”
All of which leaves the question of how to deal with all the insurrectionists defying U.S. law in Sanctuary States and Cities, which are numerous enough to justify an enforcement strategy tailored to them in particular. As it happens, we have one.
Islands are a good way to detain people under fairly minimal (i.e., not draconian) security constraints. We have an island that serves the purpose perfectly.
Off the coast of Massachusetts lies Martha’s Vineyard. Do you know it?
Until recently, they’ve managed to keep a pretty low profile, known only to a small côterie of the elite who can afford to live or summer there. When you look it up on Google, onemof the first things you encounter is curiosity and candid cluelessness about Martha or her Vineyard.
Don’t click on the pic if you’re the touchy type. It’s Martha
quotes…something to offend everybody. Guaranteed.
No, it’s not her either. Much more old money than that…
There you go. More land stealing and name erasures by the white people in charge.
A lot to live down. What else do we need to know?
Low density population, plenty of room for visitors/detainees without cramping anyone’s style.
OTOH… Hmmm. What other place is known as “The Rock”?
Alcatraz. The Rock with no amenities. Hardly suitable for the ones who wish
to live in the manner to which years of political pork has accustomed them…
The MV Detainee Facility won’t be anything like Alcatraz or Guantanamo. Democrat Insurrectionists can be shuttled in by helicopter and housed in comfortable digs with lovely oceanfront views. The people are friendly. Why, back in October 2022, they had a golden opportunity to show their solidarity with the Democrat Party by affirming the elite right not to mingle with an unnecessary horde of new gardeners, governesses, and Latin Lovers, of which they already had an ample supply. Polite as ever, they pointed out that the proper place for hordes was down in the dry desert barrens of the southwest, not the yacht basins and adorable villages of old money New England aristocrats. They even paid the busfare for the speedy departure of the unshowered intruders.
Then, blessedly, life returned to normal. No homeless winos, no ill-mannered sex-minded stalkers, no poorly dressed graduates of public high schools and state universities, just the well trained domestics who operated the quaint village shops and fixed any broken stuff.
And all the full time and summer residents went back to minding their own business in their beautifully maintained homes.

The brick and mortar structure will be occupied principally by security personnel, of course, and will
be able to put up visiting attorneys, unindicted family members, and, obviously, prosecutorial staffs.
Importantly, there will be, to the extent possible, and no detainee will be starved, tortured, beaten, waterboarded, or deprived of legal medications or beverages. Bathroom facilities will be strictly segregated by biological sex.
But does this scene look uncivilized to anyone out there?
That can be your Governor, Mayor, Attorney General, Police Commissioner, and so on.
And it certainly won’t look anything like this…
And there’s light at the end of the tunnel for every detainee who’s convinced actions taken in response to federal orders are legally justified, there’s alwaysnrhempossibilitymof acquittal by judges and juries who believe every Democrat is free to organize obstruction of federal law because they don’t like the law in question. In that case, everyone’s home free and able to resume ignoring and disobeying every law on the books. Sound cool? Cool.
We’ve even got an anthem for you…
It’s just an early take from 40 years ago. You’ll probably
have plenty of time to practice till you get it right.
