I’ve thought about all this more than you have
I’m changing my career mode today. If I were a senescent rock and roll band, which isn’t far off the mark, I’d be starting a series of farewell tours to give the youngsters a chance to see me before I take my final curtain call in the sky. I’ve already written enough to stop putting out albums, but it’s a habit that’s hard to break.
Truth is, I am now resigned to the inevitability of an American Dark Age, which may come on slowly or rapidly depending, but the issue in the intermediate term is not in doubt. We have become an uneducated, secular, self-involved nation of barely conscious people taking up space in institutions that were corrupted past saving many years ago.
What’s the point of me writing more? I’m writing what I do for the unborn ones who will come later and have to start picking up the pieces when being morally conscious and educated about the riches of human history becomes an aspiration again.
Until then, I’m going to provide this précis of my principal works, a one-stop way to see how much I’m leaving behind for your grandchildren or theirs. It’s not everything to be sure, but it’s the most of everything I can point you at on the Internet.
Here’s the one-stop rundown…
R. F. Laird at a Glance
You’d be hard put to find a writer who has written more than I have. I’ve been writing for publication since the age of 14.; I am in my 74th year now. I had a very expensive, prestigious formal education, including the languages of Greek, Latin, and French. I’ve also had plenty of real world experience in multiple trades, professions and industries, including 10 years as an international management consultant for Fortune 100 clients. Clicking on the following will show you just how much there is at each link. You’re free to read the content or not. The list alone should prevent you from making the mistake of calling me ignorant or stupid. I’m almost certainly not like you, and you are free to call me names based on disagreement or dislike. Just don’t condescend. That’s a losing approach.
Some of these are archived through the Wayback Machine and may take longer to load, but patience will be rewarded.
There are many smaller sites available through Blogger, but the list above is designed to show longevity, scope, and scale, not every jot and tittle.
I may cite this post occasionally when I run into a thread of commenters who want to try the stupid, ignorant, or unqualified to comment schtick. I’ve commented on everything, at length, and I’ve been right a scary percentage of the time.
Some of you already know that. This list may still be useful to you as a reference. Otherwise, I’ll see you later on, right here or elsewhere,..
