The Friday Follies — One-Way Tickets to Galoopaville

Same idea. Turned into a galoop by misplaced trust in wrong’ uns.

Christmas was especially generous to the Gateway Pundit yesterday, offering up a bonanza of Punch-and-Judy type slapstick comedy. The stars included both knowns and unknowns in the lefty art of making fools of themselves as they act out some of the dumber parts of the aging Panderer Playbook.

Rather than string them together at Facebook as if they were breaking news that mattered, Instapunk decided to string them together here as an entry in his old regular feature, The Friday Follies. No more setup needed. Just sit back and laugh.

Dressing up for the Holidays

FTA: <<Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan appeared in a video wearing a hijab while addressing members of the Somali community, gushing about how they’re woven into the “fabric” of the state.

Flanagan, of course, is not Muslim.

This comes amid growing backlash against Somali-linked fraud scandals in her state, which drained billions in taxpayer dollars.

Flanagan wore the ridiculous costume during an appearance at the Somali Carmel Market.

“Assalamu alaikum. My name’s Peggy Flanagan, I am the lieutenant governor of Minnesota, and I’m really honored and humbled to be here with all of you today. I am incredibly clear that the Somali community is part of the fabric of the states of Minnesota,” Flanagan says in the video.

She continued, “I think about my friendship with Nimco, we’ve been friends for almost 25 years and when I think of being part of Minnesota and growing up here, the Somali community has always been a part of my Minnesota.”

Flanagan urged people in the state to shop at Somali businesses to “support our immigrant neighbors.”

“So, I want to just encourage the community to know that, we’re with you, we’ve got your back. I am here shopping today and just encourage other folks to show up, support our Somali businesses, support our immigrant neighbors, and I know that things are scary right now and just know that there are more people who are looking out for you there, and there are more people who are here to support you that you know.”

Flanagan concluded, “I will continue to stand with the Somali community to be with you and to do all I can to return the friendship and community that the Somali community has shown me, thank you so much.”

This is the same Flanagan who, just months ago in August, proudly wore a T-shirt featuring a large knife alongside the slogan “Protect Trans Kids.”

How does Flanagan square her radical pro-trans advocacy with cozying up to a conservative Muslim community, where views on LGBT issues often clash sharply?>>

What was the question again?

You got that right. They’d cut your head off.

Democratical Nepotism Resurgent

FTA: << For months now, Democrats and various other left wing activists have been holding ‘No Kings’ protests, but apparently that rule does not apply when it comes to family legacy political campaigns.

A surprising number of children and other relatives of Democrat politicians are running for office in the coming year. There are a couple of Republicans in the mix too, but it is mostly Democrats and remember, it is Democrats who have been trying to make the whole ‘No Kings’ narrative into a thing.

When did politics become such a common family business?

NBC News reports:

All in the family: In 2026, a surge of politicians’ kids are running for office.

Dozens of members are nearing the end of their congressional careers and hanging up their voting cards.

But for some, their family’s political legacies will continue, as their kids and relatives run for office in 2026.

In the crowded Maine governor’s race alone, there are three contenders who are political scions: Democrat Angus King III, the son of independent Sen. Angus King; Democrat Hannah Pingree, the daughter of Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine; and Republican Jonathan Bush, the nephew and cousin of the two Bush presidents.

While the trend is hardly new, this campaign cycle already features a number of notable races involving candidates who are related to former or current politicians.

In New Hampshire, retiring Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s daughter, Stefany Shaheen, has launched a bid for an open House seat. Across the country, former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Christine Pelosi, is running for a state Senate seat in California. And in Georgia, the son of former GOP Rep. Jack Kingston, Jim Kingston, is running for his dad’s old House seat.

Chellie Pingree said it has been both “heart-warming and terrifying” to watch her daughter, a former speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, enter the political arena. But she also said it’s only “natural” to see the next generation of public servants following in some of their parents’ footsteps.

Are American politics just becoming all about the grift?>>

Uh, yeah. Where have you been?

Pelosi is still happy to answer the questions her staff provided you with.

Classic Americana is Racist. Duh.

FTA:  <<The College Fix reports that, according to a Carleton University professor, the beloved Christmas movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” has “secret racial and bigoted” messages.

In the publication ‘The Conversation,’ which is taxpayer subsidized, a Professor makes the absurd contention, “Some depictions of music and sound beg analysis around how these reflect racist ideas about ‘proper’ musical, social, and community norms.”

This Carelton professor, who seems to see racism and bigotry everywhere where it’s not found, claims, “A key concerning aspect to the music heard in It’s a Wonderful Life revolves around the portrayal of Black musical forms and practitioners.”

At the iconic Bedford Falls dance, the band plays three songs, including African American pianist and composer Johnson’s “Charleston,” which is performed by a White band.

As American journalism professor Sam Freedman notes in a podcast on Whiteness and racism in America, the town features predominantly White citizens apart from a stereotypical depiction of a Black housekeeper in the Bailey family.

This professor even takes issue with the town of “Pottersville,” where the “alternative universe” is set.

The race-baiting professor claims, “The quaint main street is overrun by nightclubs and full of bright lights. Through Pottersville, the film projects a sense of moral degradation. While negatively portraying jazz practised by Black artists, the film simultaneously draws upon and appropriates Black musical forms as necessary and key to popular American life but in a White-controlled version.”

He then tries to ruin the movie by claiming, “Maybe we can appreciate the film on a deeper level, when we consider its varied and competing narratives around music, race, class and belonging.”

Another professor, writing for the same tax-subsidized publication, claimed what horrifies George Bailey, the central character, the most about Pottersville is how desensitized the people living in it seem to be to its harshness and cruelty – how they treat him like he’s the crazy, deranged one for wanting and expecting things to be different and better.

She even makes a reference to President Trump, since Trump Derangement Syndrome affects even how liberals view classics like It’s a Wonderful Life.>>

There’s nothing they hate more than the thought of anyone having a wonderful life. There’d be nothing for them to promise their miserable voters.

He didn’t even mention the part about villainous Lionel Barrymore symbolizing FDR…

Kimmel Woos U.K. for a New Show

FTA: <<Jimmy Kimmel bashes Trump and America in irony-filled Christmas message to UK viewers. Credit: Channel 4 News

Failed comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel chose to take his feud against President Trump overseas on the most holy day of the year and quickly got lit up for exhibiting a complete lack of self-awareness.

While in the United Kingdom on Christmas Day, Kimmel posted what he called an “alternative Christmas” message for the residents.

Instead of sharing a warm holiday greeting, the disgraced ABC host decided to target Trump for ridicule and trash his own country.

“I honestly have no idea what’s going on over there, but I do know what’s going on over here,” Kimmel said. “And I tell you that from a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year. Tyranny is booming over here.”

“You may have read in your colorful newspapers my country’s president would like to shut me up because I don’t adore him in the way he likes to be adored.”

Kimmel went on to brag about how his show eventually returned after a massive public outcry from the left and conservatives like Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), a long-time Kimmel nemesis.

As TGP readers know, Kimmel was taken off the air for a few days after making up a disgusting lie about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

“We won, the President lost, and now I´m back on the air every night giving the most powerful politician on earth a right and richly deserved bollocking,” he added.

Kimmel also pandered to his snobby audience by mocking the intellect of his own countrymen.

“We are not bright,” he said. We’re Americans.”

In addition to the repulsive nature of this Christmas message, Kimmel’s words are extremely ironic considering free speech is basically dead in the United Kingdom.>>

What that ‘iron’ word again? Something about ICE?…

There isn’t anything he’s not willing to change about himself to fit into the BBC elite…

Ms. Rachel Joining Mandamnme Team.
No, Not that One.

FTA: <<Ms. Rachel, an incredibly successful host of children’s content on YouTube, has joined the inaugural committee of Democratic Socialist (communist) Zohran Mamdani, the mayor-elect of New York City.

We sure have come a long way from Blue’s Clues.

It seems like a very weird match, but over the last few months, Ms. Rachel has made it clear that she is on the side of the ‘Free Palestine!’ crowd.

Even so, this just looks odd.

From the New York Post:

Controversial YouTube star Ms. Rachel named to Zohran Mamdani’s ‘inaugural committee’

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s newly announced inaugural committee is already raising eyebrows — giving controversial children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel a place on the team.

Mamdani on Wednesday named dozens of supporters to the committee — including actress and activist Cynthia Nixon of “Sex and the City” fame — who are advising his transition team on his Jan. 1 inauguration party.

“I’m honored to be joined by some of the most creative and experienced minds in the city as we build an inauguration that is truly by and for New Yorkers,” he said in a statement.

But the inclusion of the toddler whisperer, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, didn’t sit well with everyone.

“Ms. Rachel? She brings false charges against Jews. She smears Jews,” former CUNY trustee Jeffrey Wiesenfeld told The Post.

“What a disgrace.”

She could lose a few subscribers over this.

What happens if Mamdani is the disaster that so many people are expecting him to be? Ms. Rachel could end up looking rather silly.>>

You think looking silly is an issue with her? Hmmm.

“Hey. This is New York. Girl’s gotta make a buck, right?”

P.S.

Amazingly enough, even the usually humorless Breitbarf was scoring some Christmas yucks. Couple quick hitters. One from a sleazy California pol who apparently has a hard time swallowing at all, let alone well…

…and one from Kellyanne Conway’s creepy Ex, who has somehow acquired Adam Shifft’s trick of looking like a pillow-biter trying desperately to kiss himself.

Eeuw!

Now. Have we all had enough fun for one Friday Happy Hour? Good.
