Stuff about George W. Bush from 20-odd years ago

Visit Shuteye Nation on the Intertubes [Be sure not to miss the UPDATE below.] Almost unbelievably the links in the texts below still work to connect you with other sections of Shuteye Nation. Highlighted names generally go to other entries in Who’s Who, the Gazetteers, or elsewhere. The degree signs (little circles) associated with certain words lead to definitions of those terms in The Glossary. Hope you enjoy the ride. From the “Shuteye Nation” Who’s Who Y2000: George Hubert Walker Chevy Snaffle Adidas Bush XIV . Candidate for Presdent of the United States in the 2000 election. The son of former Presdent  George The Elder Bush , George W. spent the first part of his life (about 50 years or so) having fun. Like all the other offspring of successful  Wishington  politicians, he attended exclusive private schools and then matriculated at  Yail University , where his 550 Verbal SAT score barely qualified him for admission under the aegis of the Power Elite Aff...

The “W” File from Moon Books

Image
Good ol’ W has put himself back in the news recently, bemoaning the plight of Afghans whose escape route to America via the Biden EZ-Pass might come unglued. A man’s got to have his priorities.  Anyhow, I was reminded by his return to the public eye that I had an orphan piece about his 43ness floating around somewhere in the electronic ether I live in. There was a place called Shuteye Town 1999 , in which there was a mall store called Moon Books, in which there was a book for sale titled ‘Loving Ameria 2’ by George Hubert Walker Chevy Snaffle Adidas Bush IV.  You had to use your video game savvy to get inside Moon Books w/o getting arrested thiugh… * The Bore Backgrounder exists too. Still needs formatting… For more than 50 of the books sold at Moon, you could click on titles and see the front and back covers. For a lot of those, there was also a representative text sample and background on the writers. Unfortunately, Internet life has been complicated for ST99, and at ...

The Real List of Worst Presidents

Image
Some illiterate mug sent me this at my FB page this morning. I know it’s a fake, because there’s no way the ghost of Time magazine could survive a defamation suit like the one ABC just had to settle for many millions with Donald Trump. Still, it reminded me that the Missing-in-Action opinion editors of the biggest mass media outlets are addicted to soliciting Worst President rankings from deranged left-wing college professors who have written books about the left-wing despoiler of the Oval Office they most admire. (One of them had Biden ranked at 17th best two years into his catastrophic single term.) The only reason why such lists are popular with the media propagandists is the inevitable punchline that Trump and Nixon are first and second worst in some order. Which is nonsense. Generally, people with any education ignore the lists because they’re predictable, biased, sloppily argued and cited, and transparently a provocative political statement rather than a product of scholar...

Obama Not My President (Nov 7 2008)

Image
It  was reported today that the Justice Department has evidence that both Obama and Biden helped engineer the fraudulent criminal case against Michael T. Flynn. Which would make them both federal criminals and subject to arrest, trial, and imprisonment. I always believed this was who Obama was. I never believed Biden was anything but a government prostitute. On the day of the election I expressed my fears about Obama and the dire long-term implications of his election. A piece I wrote on Election Day is posted at Facebook. The follow-on piece is posted below. Who’s Your President One of the (several) controversies conservatives have been snarled up in since the election is the question of how we should regard the president-elect. As I predicted, there's been a lot of "making nice" by conservative pundits and bloggers, who want to note a great historical accomplishment and congratulate the winner while acknowledging their continued reservations about the policies...

Enough is Enough — The History of an Evolving Falsehood

Image
What follows is an excerpt from a longer piece I wrote for an old blog of mine called Gloves Off . It remains critically relevant to what we see transpiring in the leftist assault on our nation in July 2020. ********** Friday, September 19, 2003 Enough is enough. It's time to recognize what Democrats call political debate for what it is: vicious, unprincipled demagoguery that provides aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States. I am by no means a kneejerk defender of the policies of the Bush administration. I believe there are many issues about which reasonable people can disagree, and I believe the country would benefit from a civil airing of competing ideas about how best to deal with the challenges we face. That is not what is occurring now. If there was a straw that broke the camel's back, it was Andrew Greeley's column in today's issue of the Chicago Sun-Times.
