Thing Two — The Black Bloc
Yeah. Seen them in the schoolyard, not in Detroit. Does your heart good.
Thing Two — Do Black People Matter?
This whole Black Lives Matter thing. More than any other group of lives, right? You can get fired (or stoned) for saying that ALL lives matter. Which means black people are some kind of sacred bloc, right?
It’s like the black bloc is some large piece on a game board and it has the power of the Queen in chess. Wherever it moves it automatically takes out some other piece(s).
Kill the White King, and the Black Queen will be free. Why? How so?
Except they’re not really a bloc, are they? No way I can put Duane and Henry and Emma and Esther and Hushel and every other black person I know or knew into one game piece-sized, pixelated, videogame assault weapon. Actually, the only way I could perform such a sleight of hand is by erasing all the individual distinctions between them. They are just black and their identity is a group function, consisting of shared victimhood smeared across a vast population of individual people with names, lives, beliefs, opinions, desires, purposes, and needs of their own.
You could no more brand them all with a single monolithic identity than you could with white people. Oops. What the Left in America is doing. All white people are the same, evil, unless they have an Antifa or BLM logo on their persons. All black people are blessed, virtuous, and blame-free in every instance by virtue of the color of their skin.
Yo!!! It’s not one of the Whitey games. It’s T&A like real life.
Hmmmm.
Turns out, this thing isn’t worthy of any kind of essay. Skin color is not a game. It’s just skin color. Maybe it’s time to take a close look at Thing Three. Where there’s not just skin but blood in the game.
And real babies die, inside the bloc the rulers have decreed.
