When the Left Hand Doesn’t Know What the Left Hand is Doing

My sendups of Beavis and Butthead in Shuteye Town 1999 occur 
in multiple parts of the site and include a complete episode of the
show in a college dorm room at the subway stop Schoolz Station.

Now here’s a funny thing. Just found out FaceBook has banned a third complete website of mine. Sort of. You see, you can get to the site from my About page, where the full web address for jdoe99.simplesite.com is included and is fully functional through FB itself, except that inside FB the back button does not work and just returns you to the About page. Fine. This censorship mountain is a slippery one to climb, and an even slipperier one to fall off of onto your Face. If you know what I mean.

What is not fine is that any attempt to link the site in a post or comment results only in this:


Why the only way I can get you to the “Zeezer and Zithead Show” is to ask you to click on this and then click on the green Button at the bottom of each screen to keep watching:



The perfect irony? My spoof, except for a hidden punchline buried too deep for any but the cleverest to reach, is that my version of Beavis and Butthead is no more outrageous than the original show. The post was intended to point out that it’s flat impossible to bring back B&B today. The current psychotic break into insane political correctness would forbid it. It would, in short, violate the new “Community Standards” FB is so zealously protecting. My original copy for the post was short and sweet: “I hear they’re thinking about rebooting Beavis and Butthead. Why? I mean it’s so last century, dude.”

The Best Book on the Trump Phenomenon

Everybody rushed in after the fact to be first with the goods on how Trump pulled off the biggest electoral upset in modern presidential history. I was already ahead of them though. I had been covering the political briar patch with a steady diary approach for four presidential election cycles, both terms of W, the meteoric rise and weird re-election of Barack Obama, and of course the first flutterings of the Republican country club riot over replacing him. Don’t like Trump? Get over it.

Another has-been life ruined beyond repair. Trump Curse writ large. Rosie O’Donnell still can’t get over the fact that Trump won the Republican nomination in 2016 by blowing off Megyn Kelly’s gotcha question about his mean tweets to women, using her as the completely understandable punchline.   Millions of men, and even some women, said to themselves, “I would do that too.” She’s a sad case. But this latest outburst got me to thinking. Maybe I’ve been unfair to The Donald myself over the years. With my wife and others, I’ve taken the position that I admire Trump as a President and would-be savior of the Republic. I’ve also said I wouldn’t have him in my house for dinner. Or, less pompously, that I have never had any desire to meet him in person. I have fought strenuously for his political life and fortunes. No one can deny that. What we were listening to during the dramatic changes in our bodies, social lives, and aspirational identities stays with us, regardless of what we come to value and treasure later in life.
